Weekends...I love you....
I'm currently looking for another one. I'm really hoping I can become an activities coordinator for a senior living center. I think that would be the best of both worlds...helping out senior citizens annnd paying my bills. Orrrr I might just stop everything and become a bail bondsmen?? haha. (and I am half serious)
But, since I have this new found freedom on the weekends I've been running amuck!
Friday:
Friday's are always rough because the stress of the week finally catches up to me and all I want to do is fall asleep.
So I promised my new co-worker and my old co-worker that we would go across the street after work and have some margaritas. So at 5:00 we all drove over and had 2 margaritas. During that time I got a phone call from my step mother who asked if I could play softball for her church leauge since I've been wanting to play for quite some time and it starts at 6:15 (its already 5:30...plusss it takes about 1/2 hr to get there) So I finish my 2nd margarita and stumble out the door.
I get there and they stick me on 2nd base, which I have NEVER played during my whole softball career but I make a few stops and hit a few balls but the short stop is hogging his area &&&&& MINE then we're done.
After the softball game we went to another mexican restraunt to eat some burritos. My work paid for me to learn spanish through Rosetta Stone (which I highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn AND pantalones which is the word for pants is my all time fav word) and my step sissy had taken 2 yrs of spanish in high school so we were attempting to communicate to the waitresses via spanglish...which I didn't think they appreciated.
Afterward I came home and my bro & my step sissy came over and spent the night with me. We played Left 4 Dead (which is highly addicitve) and we watched pineapple express. Then I passed out on the floor and dreamt of a vacation.
Saturday:
Saturday we got up early (12:00 pm) and got ready to go to the Yellow Springs Street Fair. My friend & bf, my dad, stepmom, bro, stepsis, & Josh's cousin, wife, and son all came with us. It was crazzzyyyyyyy busy!
Now...for those of you who DO NOT know about Yellow Springs, Dave Chappelle was raised there and has a farm there, annnnnd it is the hippiest town EVA. I've NEVER seen so many dreadlocks & tye-die IN MY LIFE.
There was about a million and one things I wanted and it was about a million and one degrees outside.
So I settled on:
A new pair of sunglasses because mine broke...$10, pretty reasonable.
Thennn I bought me 5 pair of earrings for a total of $5.00
Green earrings w/ stars that have faces on them...
Sea Horsey's
Green Stars
Circle shiny ones
Little bees
Sunday:
Got up a littttle earlier and went to the Waynesville gun range with my grandpa to shoot clay pigeons with shot guns....I felt like RAMBO. It was my first time and my grandpa was impressed by my aim. I shot almost all of them. I told him I wanna go back next week but we shot about 100 shells and I guess bullets & the clay pigeons are expensive.
You load this:
Into This:
And hopefully this happens:
Before...
After... See the bruising? The shot gun kicks back a tid bit. I am not excited to see what it will look like tomorrow.
After that I went to Germantown to meet up with my dad, step mom, step sis, and bro and their uncle. He has a house in Germantown that was built in the 1800's and was apart of the underground railroad. Supposedly the house is haunted by a little girl, dog, and woman. I had never been in there before and can I just say...WOW. The house was humungo! It had 7 doors leading to the outside, 4 fireplaces, and like 13 rooms. I could NOT believe it. But I guess when he moved in he was looking around in the basement and there was a bunch of stuff that was left from previous owners and he found embalming jars that were full of stuff. He also says there is a mound of dirt piled up in the basement but he dare not dig it up....its probably a body or something. Prettyyy scary stuff. I didn't have any experieinces when I was there but all I can say is that house is goregous. He needs 3 air conditioners & 3 heaters to make sure it flows through the whole house. Very crazy!
But that was pretty much all my weekend. Hope you all had a good one!!

Once you've hit rock bottom, the only way is up...
Times have been tough. Josh had quit his job at Midas so the only income we were surviving (if you can say that) was from mine.
Luckily he picked up a part time job at DHL which is 3rd shift and a job at Levi Strauss packaging jeans which is full time 3 days a week for 12 hr shifts. He has already worked a week at DHL and starts Levi's soon. I can't WAIT until he starts getting 2 paychecks. That will really help us get back on our feet. He will be working like 56 hrs a week but some weeks thats what he was working at Midas.
Odviously our marriage has suffered a bit due to the financial situations but him and I are working through it. We still love each other and are dedicated to making this work with some help from a counseler.
I'm going to keep thinking that having to struggle will keep me humble and more sensitive to the situation others are in. Some people who have been given things all their life have no idea what struggling for money is like and have no room to judge. Like I said...eventually things will get better...the only way they can go is up and I hope its soon.
Since Josh and I have been struggling for so long I think we forget that alot of people ARE in the same boat due to the crashing economy. Dayton is a scary place to live now adays. The LAST fortune 500 company has left to go to Atlanta and there are practically zero jobs. Both jobs Josh is now working for are in Cincinatti almost an hour away. We should just be thankful he has found 2 jobs with 2 great companies and hope this blossoms into something that could lead to better things for us.
I would love to start a family some day but with the way things are going i doesn't look like that's going to be happening any time soon.
Oh if the Beatles song was really true that "all you need is love..'' You need love, and money to make the world go round.
Hopefully we'll fall into some soon. :o) Positivity is all I've got left.
I need to update this thing more often then I have been. With everything being so depressing around here there wasn't really anything to say. I'm sure that will change soon!
Can I just say...those that have been there for me are greatly appreciated. Your suggestions and kind words have all been taken in and used. It gives me warm fuzzy's knowing that some people in the world still care about others!

It's a Nail Bitter
Josh left work yesterday at 4:00 and was on his way to the interview with DHL. On the paper it stated he MUST get there by 5:30 and they will not let anyone who is late. Josh works about an hour and 15 mins away so it would be cutting it pretty close.
Of course.....there was a wreck.
But luckily....he made it at 5:27 and got into the interview process.
Sheeeeewwwhhh......
So I guess the interviews went well, so Josh says. They asked them like 3 questions and then they stood in line to take a drug test. Josh has aderal in his system but he has a prescription for it, so I'm hoping that they call and ask if he does and don't just throw it out the window and think he's not clean.
The position pays $10.25 an hour and is 3rd shift but there are only a certain amount of full time jobs and more part time jobs. Honestly...if Josh only worked part time it might still pay more then him working full time at Midas.
Josh and I have been at each other's throats lately. I hope that we get better because if not, I don't see us lasting. I am going to have a nervous breakdown with all the crap that is going on in my mind.
I've got a busy week ahead of me! I think it stresses me out and makes me forget what's going on at the same time....
Monday- I can't even remember what I did on Monday. I think I went home and slept at like 7.
Tuesday- I went to BW3's with some high school friends for my pal's birthday. Then we went back to his house and we all played football, badmitten, and cornhole. It feels good to get up and move.
Today- Going to my g-ma's for her famous Chili!
Thursday- Going to Josh's mom's
Friday- Going to Pennsylvania for Memorial Day. Josh is staying home because he has to work.
Tuesday- Coming back from Memorial Day
Wednesday- Start all over again....
Have a good day everyone!

Now to lighten the mood...
I need to find a new name for my business. I'm just not feeling fantastical enough to be called Allison's Fantastical Design. I need to change the name to ______ Prints.
I need your help! So lemme know what you think.
Also I could use some constructive critacism for my new site....Alliprints.com
So let me know about that too...

So if you couldn't tell my the serenity prayer I'm buggin right now. Josh's job is making me nervous and him making what he does is not cutting it. I'm worried about our bills and I'm worried that I'll never be able to start a family.
DHL left the Dayton area but is now coming back and they are doing a mass hiring today and Josh is going to it. They are only taking the first 150 people and its for package handlers. If there is any room in your prayers please add this to it. Although a package handler is not the greatest job its with a great company that he could potentially move up the ladder with. They offer tuition reimbursement to part time folks....
I would love for him to go back to school and get a degree as an electrician or HVAC. I think that would be something he would be good at.
So....That's my life in a nutshell. Stressed to the max about everything.
Love love love love love.
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful worldas it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things rightif I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with HimForever in the next.
Amen.

I need to try not to sweat the small stuff and take in the bigger picture.
Things will improve with time. And we have all the time in the world.
